apoll

Apoll
André Pollmann aka apoll started to make music in 1987. living in an industrial area (duisburg, a town in the german ruhrgebiet) he was involved in the EBM scene which started to grow at this time in belgium. apoll was influenced by skinny puppy, front line assembly, clock dva, tuxedomoon, fad gadget (rip frank!), soft cell, à grumh…, the neon judgement, front 242 and of course depeche mode, kraftwerk and portion control to name but a few.

He founded lots of bands and released loads of cool tracks on different electronic body music compilations. an album was released on spanish label bol records in 1990. after leaving duisburg for switzerland in 1991 apoll quit also the EBM scene and found his love as a producer as well as a dj in electronic, minimal styled dance music. apoll appears on different imprints like tokyo’s gyro trax, morris/audio out of berne in switzerland or sub static and punkt music from berlin where he released much acclaimed ep’s.

At the beginning of 2001, apoll started an own label called tongut. tongut stands for minimal, dubby quality techno and features artists like berlin’s top shots rene breitbarth and falko brocksieper plus the likes of novatek, todd bodine, hd substance, holger flinsch, james taylor, stewart walker or dub taylor – not forgetting apoll, who released the first 3 releases himself. tongut is definitely a label to watch!

duckett

Duckett
From roots stemming from the acoustic guitar and a general love for music, it wasn't long before Duckett was kneeling before an analogue set-up of uncontrollable proportions. Playing every note by hand with each machine running independently, Duckett was churning out twisted, speed fueled, acid tinged minimal techno.

The sleepless sessions, spanning for as long as three days, has eventually paid off. Evolving into the original, edgy and soulful music he has been writing for some time. Now, Duckett still manages to get the warm, rich, analogue sounding flavours from today’s digital equipment.
Having released tracks on good friend Grimes Adhesif’s Mindyourhead records and Steevio’s Mindtours, Duckett has now joined the Electronique Audio imprint, so expect to be moved and grooved by his still relatively unknown talent.

j-lab

J-LAB
London-based Jon Dickens, the man behind J-Lab, has been creating & playing music for more years than he cares to remember. The J-Lab concept arrived out of the desire to improvise and perform techno and electronica live. No two gigs are the same, and out of these experiments and gigs, tracks were born. J-Lab's first netlabel release was on After-Dinner last year. since then, he has followed this up with live set release on After-Dinner, a track on Metroline's 'Metro Buskers Vol 1' compilation and a forthcoming release on Brazil's Motronic label. In amongst all that, J-lab has kept up a frenetic gigging schedule, which has seen him perform all over London, as well as Barcelona and Berlin.
